DEKAI - Troops from the West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB) Yallenang Battalion Command Area (Kodap) XVI Yahukimo announced they executed an Indonesian military intelligence member from the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) in Kali Bonto, Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency on 20 May 2026. The covert operation lasted for 37 minutes from 06:23 to 07:00 WIT under the leadership of Kombi Yemberenge. TPNPB emphasized this action was carried out because the victim actively leaked information regarding the location of their troops, triggering a series of shootings and arrests in the Yahukimo region.
​The shooting of the target in the field ran according to orders from the TPNPB operational headquarters. TPNPB stated, "The execution of the Indonesian government military intelligence agent in Kali Bonto, Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency was carried out in a covert operation led by Kombi Yemberenge on Thursday (21/5/2026)."
​TPNPB also urged all Indonesian immigrant communities and Papuan citizens to stay away from Indonesian military security forces so as not to trigger civilian casualties.
​TPNPB urged immigrant citizens and Papuan citizens in the center of Dekai City to immediately keep their distance from the Indonesian military if they do not want to become the next targets in sudden actions.
​TPNPB even gave a stern warning to parties considered to support Indonesian government activities in the conflict area. TPNPB asked State Civil Apparatus (ASN), members of parliament (DPR), the Papuan People's Assembly (MRP), motorcycle taxi drivers, meatball vendors, to kiosk owners and street vendors to stop their activities to avoid follow-up attacks.
​Meanwhile, the Central Headquarters of the National Command (KOMNAS) TPNPB emphasized that all Indonesian military intelligence agents currently serving in the Land of Papua region immediately leave the area.
​TPNPB urged intelligence personnel to step out of the conflict zone and return to their origin regions such as Jakarta, Sulawesi, Manado, or Kalimantan. This preventive step was called the most effective effort to minimize excessive loss of civilian lives. (One Papua)
