NDUGA - The West Papua National Liberation Army of the Third Ndugama Derakma Defense Regional Command stated that it takes full responsibility for the attack targeting the Indonesian National Armed Forces military post in Yuguru District, Nduga Regency. The armed attack incident which triggered the firefight was launched on July 3, 2026.
In the attack action, the TPNPB troops successfully shot dead three members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces and wounded a number of other personnel. The firefight between the two sides briefly took place fiercely in the area of the military post of Yuguru District, but there were no casualties falling from the TPNPB side.
The situation in the battle field of Nduga region from July to August 2026 is still in status of code one between the TPNPB and the Indonesian military. The attack action was under the command of Brigadier General Egianus Kogeya and Major Maleo Belia Kogeya.
The TPNPB urged the Indonesian National Armed Forces Commander General Agus Subyanto and Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin to openly announce the number of fatalities and injuries from the Indonesian military side. The Commander of TPNPB Mugi Battalion, Major Nereminus Gwijangge, affirmed that the TPNPB troops are ready to take full responsibility for all the series of attacks in the Nduga region.
