JAYAPURA - The West Papua National Committee officially called for a National Action scheduled to take place on August 15, 2026. The call was delivered to commemorate and simultaneously protest the New York Agreement, which is assessed as a political and economic conspiracy between the governments of the Netherlands, Indonesia, and the United States without involving indigenous Papuans as legitimate legal and political subjects.
​The statement was directly delivered by 1st Chairperson Warpo Wetipo in an open statement to all people of Papua and various layers of society to remain enthusiastic and prepare themselves to welcome, commemorate, and protest the New York Agreement on August 15. Comprehensive consolidation has begun since August 3 and has been carried out in several regions including Wamena, Yalimo, Yahukimo, Mamberamo Tengah, Sorong, Timika, Nabire, Dogiyai, Intan Jaya, Deiyai, Paniai, Maphia, Manokwari, Lanny Jaya, up to the Indonesian Consulate region.
​The central issue raised in the consolidation series is Papua as a Military and Humanitarian Emergency Zone. Warpo Wetipo stated that they uphold universal values, especially humanity, justice, truth, and freedom, so that in this consolidation they do not want other parties to hinder, especially upholding democracy because democracy is not given for free by anyone, democracy is fought for by the people themselves, democratic people themselves with sweat and bloodshed.

​The West Papua National Committee stated it is open to receive all criticisms, suggestions, and aspirations. Technically, consolidation more specifically for the Tabi region has been carried out by the regional administrators, namely the West Papua National Committee of Numbay and Sentani regions.
​An official appeal was conveyed by the General Field Coordinator of the National Action Kiri Keroman to all people of Papua in the Tabi land and all territory of West Papua. Kiri Keroman appealed to all Papuan people and also non-Papuans that on the 15th the West Papua National Committee will mediate all Papuans and non-Papuans to together go down to the street and conduct a demonstration, a protest over the affair event between America, the United Nations, the Netherlands, and Indonesia without involving the Papuan people themselves.
​The protest is directed against past political events involving the United States, the United Nations, the Netherlands, and Indonesia without involving the direct participation of the Papuan people. Kiri Keroman emphasized that the designation of Papua as a Military and Humanitarian Emergency Zone demands that the Papuan people must be saved, including non-Papuan people who live on the land of Papua must also be saved.
​"We appeal to all society and also non-Papuans that on the 15th the West Papua National Committee will mediate all Papuans and non-Papuans to together go down to the street and conduct a demonstration, protest over the affair event between America, the United Nations, the Netherlands, and Indonesia without involving the Papuan people themselves," said Kiri Keroman.
​The safety of all civilians without looking at ethnic background is referred to as a shared task and responsibility involving the West Papua National Committee, churches, non-governmental organizations, customary communities, and all elements, components, and groups including Indonesian people who exist above the land of Papua. The rescue of humans becomes the task and joint responsibility, where humans must not become victims, and civilian people of Papua and non-Papuans must not become victims for all humans who live above this land.
