SUGAPA - Indonesian military personnel continue military operations from Agisiga District to Hitadipa District, Intan Jaya Regency. The land operations accompanied by air strikes using unmanned aerial vehicles or drones target civilian settlements, causing massive infrastructure damage.
The land and air assaults that have been ongoing from night until early morning triggered great panic among local residents. Hundreds of residents are reported to be forced to leave their homes to seek safety in the inland area.

TPNPB asks President Prabowo Subianto, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, and Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Agus Subyanto to prioritize the protection of non-combatant citizens during military operations.
The use of heavy military equipment in civilian settlement areas is assessed to be imbalanced and violates the principles of international humanitarian law. The imbalanced use of armed force in the conflict in Papua between Indonesian military personnel and TPNPB only results in casualties and damage to civilian facilities.
Meanwhile, security stability in Intan Jaya is predicted to continue to worsen if the mobilization of troops and explosive materials continues to be increased. President Prabowo Subianto and his ranks are obligated to use balanced force in the battlefield in Papua during the war against TPNPB.
The scorched-earth actions and the use of explosives in civilian areas are called to potentially trigger a wider humanitarian crisis in the land of the bird of paradise. The use of heavy weapons and explosives by Indonesian military personnel in Papua has taken many casualties and has violated international humanitarian law.
Based on the development of the situation, TPNPB urges active involvement from international institutions to resolve this long-rooted conflict. The UN is expected to act immediately on war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Indonesian government against Papuan people for more than 64 years.
