YAHUKIMO - The Regional Management Body of the West Papua National Committee (BPW-KNPB) Yahukimo conducted an organizational restructuring by installing the new management of the Hoyawos Sector. This agenda was coupled with the recruitment of new members to strengthen the political consolidation of the organization at the grass-roots level.
The activity, which took place under the theme "KNPB Focuses on Sovereignty and Unity of the People to Answer the National Politics of the Papuan Nation," opened with an opening service. The theological reflection in the service was delivered by a religious leader, F.U., who quoted the book of Joshua 1:11 to strengthen the commitment of all cadres present.
In the procession, the regional management honorably discharged 4 old sector managers and dismissed 6 members of the Hoyawos Sector because they were deemed not in line with organizational mechanisms. This step was taken as part of a periodic evaluation to maintain the internal discipline of cadres at the grass-roots level.
In their place, KNPB Yahukimo received 10 youths as new members of the Hoyawos Sector after going through a procession of direct handover by their parents to the organizational management. Before the witnesses, the parents expressed full support so that their children are actively involved in the organizational and political work with KNPB until Papua is free.
The installation of the new management structure of the Hoyawos Sector was then led directly by the Secretary of KNPB Yahukimo Region, Nifal Enggalim. Based on the results of the decision, Senegal Ulunggy was officially established as Chairman, Fanri Sobolim as Vice Chairman, Iter Assuk as Secretary General, and Mecky Kobak as Secretary II, which is equipped with a lineup of commissariats and working fields.
"Every member of the West Papua National Committee becomes the work and submits to organizational principles and the agenda of the Papuan people," said Nifal Enggalim, Friday (26/6/2026). He also reminded that the pledge of loyalty spoken is an individual moral responsibility that must be realized in concrete action. This new structure is expected to be able to maintain the existence of the struggle of the Hoyawos Sector which has been running since 2008 for the liberation of West Papua.
Meanwhile, at least 8 representatives of the Hoyawos community gave notes and critical evaluations of the performance of KNPB. The public aspiration emphasized four main urgencies, namely nurturing unity, consistency in struggling for independence, maintaining the sustainability of the struggle, and strengthening the foundation of the spiritual relationship of the community.
Responding to the input, Management of KNPB Yahukimo Region, Sinduc Kobak expressed appreciation to the committee and the community of Hoyawos who have supported the improvement of this structure. He emphasized that as long as Papua is not free, KNPB will remain focused on building the strength of the people's base as the main subject in monitoring the politics of the movement. (One Papua)
