DEKAI — The Management of the KOMNAS TPNPB Headquarters released an official report confirming the active involvement of TPNPB forces in a series of contact fire actions that the Yahukimo region. Based on reports received from TPNPB Kodap XVI Yahukimo, the HSSBI Battalion under the command of Major Wene Kobak, Major Enos M. Yoal, and Jinak Sobolim confirmed that TPNPB elite forces conducted a direct attack against a TNI member at the Dekai Town Koramil.
This attack was a continuation of the contact fire incident that previously broke out in the Kali Wo area on April 18, 2026. In the statement, TPNPB declared that the operation at the Dekai Koramil which took place on April 28, 2026, was carried out after TPNPB conducted intensive field monitoring of the intended target.
TPNPB Spokesperson, Sebby Sambom, in the press release emphasized that this claim is a concrete field fact and demanded the Indonesian military authorities be honest with the public. TPNPB stated that TPNPB had confirmed the target's presence since being in the shop-house area, conducted a measured pursuit, until entering the Dekai Town Koramil headquarters to carry out the execution.
"We TPNPB have confirmed his presence at the shop-house and chased until he entered the Dekai Koramil and shot him. Therefore, we ask the Indonesian military, the TNI, must admit it," emphasized the official statement from the headquarters management.
This statement also as a firm rebuttal to the Cendrawasih Military Commander's information in various national media outlets which denied the incident occurred or that there were victims from the TNI side.
TPNPB considers the attitude of the Cendrawasih Military Commander in denying the incident to be a public lie and a disregard for the reality of the war occurring in Yahukimo. As a form of open challenge to the Indonesian military, TPNPB stated TPNPB will not hide and TPNPB is always ready to face further pursuit within TPNPB's own defense territory.
"Therefore, we convey openly if you want to find and chase us, please come to the TPNPB HSSBI Battalion headquarters in Wiligap Singofam," the statement continued with a defiant tone.
This assertion ends the speculation regarding the actors behind the attack in the center of Dekai town, while simultaneously reinforcing the position of TPNPB in the armed conflict on Papuan land. ***
