NABIRE – West Papua National Liberation Army Defense Regional Command (TPNPB Kodap) 11 Odiyai Dogiyai has stated full responsibility for the seizure of one unit of firearm, a pistol type, belonging to a member of the Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob), which took place at Settlement Unit (SP) C, Nabire Regency, Central Papua, on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
The seizure of ammunition and firearms belonging to Indonesian military security forces in the area was carried out directly by TPNPB troops under field operational command.
"I, along with TPNPB Kodap 11 Odiyai Dogiyai troops, have carried out the seizure of one unit of pistol belonging to Indonesian security forces in SP C Nabire, and it has been officially handed over to become a TPNPB asset," said Commander of Operations Company C Bida Waniyai Battalion 1 Makewapa, Putud Pigai, Tuesday (29/9/2026).
Commander of TPNPB Kodap 11 Odiyai Dogiyai Brigadier General Yonatan M Pigai confirmed the report of the weapon seizure execution and expressed readiness to face any consequences whatsoever.
The handover of the seized weapon has now been officially recorded as an addition to the TPNPB defense inventory to support the movement agenda in the Central Papua region.
"This weapon has become a TPNPB asset and was seized by Putud Pigai along with troops, so TPNPB Kodap 11 Odiyai Dogiyai is ready to take full responsibility for this weapon seizure," said Yonatan M Pigai.
Yonatan M Pigai requested Indonesian security forces not to launch military operations, arrests, or sweeps that could potentially target civilians in Nabire and surrounding areas.
A stern warning was also delivered to all Indonesian military intelligence networks and agents operating in Nabire to immediately cease all intelligence activities.
TPNPB ensured that the firearm resulting from the seizure will be directly used in the battlefield against Indonesian military forces in the conflict zone.
Civilian migrants and incoming residents crossing the Trans Nabire route to Dogiyai were also asked to immediately leave the conflict area to avoid casualties.
Security escalation in Nabire and surrounding areas has the potential to increase following the withdrawal appeal for residents present in the TPNPB war operation zone. (One Papua)
