PAPUA — Spokesperson for the West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB) National Command, Sebby Sambom, revealed what he referred to as the operational methods of Indonesian intelligence in the land of Papua.
"I am Sebby Sambom, spokesperson for the West Papua National Liberation Army National Command. Today, on September 19, 2026, from the Management Controller at Central Headquarters, we will provide political education or instruction, and we will also announce the working methods of Indonesian intelligence in Papua that you do not yet know, but we already know," Sebby Sambom stated.
He also asked the public to understand the background behind shooting actions carried out by the TPNPB against parties suspected of being Indonesian intelligence agents.
"Please follow, you will understand why the TPN shoots drivers and others who are suspected of being Indonesian intelligence agents," he continued.
Sebby subsequently explained the existence of infiltration patterns that he assessed were carried out by outside parties to control a territory.
"Intelligence methods or colonizers' methods to take over, control, and seize a land or a country are through infiltration. First, those infiltrators disguise themselves as teachers, medical workers, and others, sent to all regions of the country they want to colonize and take over, and that is what happened in Papua," he asserted.
On that occasion, Sebby also directed sharp criticism at some indigenous Papuans whom he considered overly proud of titles or relationships with government officials.
"So conscious or not, Papuans are also ridiculous, feeling proud of doctor or professor titles, funny Papuans, humans with a slave mentality. So I criticize indigenous Papuans. Remember, people like that are useless. You must show your nature as a human created by God on the ancestral land of the Papuan nation," Sebby said.
Sebby then recounted his experience regarding someone he referred to as a Kopassus intelligence member named David in Wamena.
"So this is a secret that we kept for years, I will uncover it now. We have enough witnesses and evidence. First, there was a friend of mine, a person from Surabaya, named David. We used to call him Mas David. This person managed an internet service. Back then, there were no smartphones. We used to go to the internet like an internet cafe. Because I went to the internet to update news to the ASEAN Human Rights Commission and also Brother Benny Wenda, as well as friends in Australia," Sebby recounted.
He revealed the moment his true identity was discovered by the internet cafe manager.
"So, one day I was asked by the operator regarding my username. I said Darkness. Now, that operator said, your name is not Darkness, your real name is Sebby Sambom. He said that. He said he was Kopassus Intelligence. And he said, if he wanted to kill me, that was easy. Or if he wanted to kidnap me, that was easy. Because I always entered his place. He showed his knife, his Command hat, Kopassus, everything. Full uniform. He said he was Kopassus Intelligence. But because he was Christian, he did not have the heart to kill me as a fellow Christian. Then he said that his wife was a high school teacher in Wamena. Like that," Sebby explained.
According to Sebby, this finding strengthened allegations regarding the cover of security personnel among the public.
"So from this experience, those who become Intelligence will change ID cards with other names, names in other military institutions, names as taxi drivers, or other motorcycle taxi drivers, that is all disguised by the state, institutions," he said.
Sebby claimed he made a business agreement with David regarding the future of Papua.
"Then I told him (David), Okay, if so, I want to offer you, if you support us, when Papua is Independent, I will call you back to Papua to become an investment. He agreed. Then, we made a cooperation deal," he recounted.
Sebby also recounted that when the torture incident occurred in Tingginambut, Puncak Jaya, at that time, David was also the one who helped provide video of the civilian torture to be published internationally.
"The CD video I also brought to Hong Kong," Sebby claimed.
In addition to the video, Sebby also recounted weapons transactions with David in 2007–2008.
"After that, I told David, please bring weapons, we have money. Then he brought weapons from Surabaya. There are witnesses, there is evidence. Ask Okiman Wenda. He said he was ready to supply weapons. And when Papua is Independent, David will join and live in Papua. That was professional work," Sebby admitted.
He compared the performance of the TPNPB at that time with the current TPNPB generation.
"Not like now. This new generation of TPNPB works unprofessionally and eventually gets caught," he added.
Sebby then recounted the continuation of the story of the figure named David who changed professions to become a transport driver before eventually dying.
"Later, he became a taxi driver, a transport driver from Wamena to Tingginambut. However, he was eventually shot dead by TPNPB forces," he explained.
Sebby then linked the event to an incident that befell a person named Aris Nanda, who was shot by TPNPB a few days ago in Jayawijaya.
"So Aris Nanda was a police member, Brimob, he was a policeman disguised as a taxi driver, that is why he was shot by TPNPB," Sebby stated.
Sebby also shared another experience when using a rental car service driven by someone suspected of being a police officer.
"I knew because that driver was once a guard for the Chairman of KPU Yahukimo. He was a policeman. But then he was assigned to enter and control Papuan people," he explained.
Sebby subsequently explained historical manipulation regarding the 1969 Act of Free Choice (PEPERA) and demographic changes in Papua.
"Papuans are very good. But because of Pepera 1969, where Indonesia manipulated and engineered all of this, Papuans now fight back. Indonesia used to be able to fool our parents who were uneducated. But we now are educated. You (Indonesia) will not be able to fool us again," he snapped.
Sebby also emphasized that TPNPB is currently conducting comprehensive surveillance to protect the territory of the Papuan nation. He also accused non-native residents working as motorcycle taxi drivers to food vendors in conflict areas of being part of intelligence agents.
"Everyone who becomes a motorcycle taxi driver, meatball vendor, all kinds like that, all are intelligence agents," Sebby said.
He assessed that the wave of arriving immigrants from outside Papua impacted the control over customary rights and land of Papuan people. This condition is considered to gradually displace indigenous Papuans into becoming a minority in their own homeland.
"This is called a genocide program. Colonizers come to take over the rights of our nation, our island, our natural wealth. Until today the fact is Papuans never enjoy the results from the Freeport company. All who enjoy are Indonesian people, Jakarta," Sebby continued.
Regarding steps to build networks and convince outside parties to support the West Papua Independence struggle, Sebby referred to it as a normal form of political persuasion.
"I have experience in many independent countries. Countries that once fought and became independent," Sebby said.
Sebby also issued a stern warning to all non-Papuan residents to immediately leave the combat zone. This step was mentioned to avoid civilian casualties during gun battles in war zones.
"If there are Indonesian civilians who die in Papua, do not blame us, because we have already warned them to leave the war zone," Sebby asserted.
Meanwhile, TPNPB is currently preparing legal arguments to bring human rights violation issues and the right to self-determination for Papua to international courts.
