PAPUA - The Central Headquarters Management of the National Command of the West Papua National Liberation Army (KOMNAS TPNPB) has officially issued a first and final warning to Jefry Wenda and Henky Yeimo.
This stern warning was delivered following comments, opinions, and criticisms shared by the two figures on social media regarding the shooting incident targeting individuals referred to as Indonesian military intelligence agents in Wamena City, Jayawijaya Regency.
The statement was issued by TPNPB after Jefry Wenda shared his views on Facebook. TPNPB considered the post to question the execution operation in Wamena. In addition, the warning was also addressed to Henky Yeimo over an open letter directed to TPNPB and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) - Indonesian National Police (Polri). TPNPB regarded the contents of the letter as criticism of the organization, while the position of the writers was considered to still protect the stance of the Indonesian military apparatus.
The Central Headquarters Management of KOMNAS TPNPB again reminded Jefry Wenda, Henky Yeimo, and all Indonesian immigrant citizens. TPNPB emphasized that this appeal has been issued periodically so that incoming citizens immediately leave areas designated as armed conflict zones. This measure was requested to prevent civilian casualties when TPNPB conducts combat operations.
"We have repeatedly issued appeals for Indonesian immigrant citizens to leave red zone areas in Papua, otherwise they are part of the Indonesian military intelligence agents who must be executed," said KOMNAS TPNPB Spokesperson, Sebby Sambom, Thursday (10/9/2026).
To strengthen the basis of the action, TPNPB referenced the rules of International Humanitarian Law (IHL), specifically Geneva Conventions Additional Protocol I of 1977 Article 57 paragraph 2 letter c. The provision regulates the obligation to give effective advance warning before military operations that could endanger civilians are launched. TPNPB considered that early warnings have been fully met through various official announcements in the mass media.
TPNPB warned that if all appeals and early warnings are ignored, every immigrant citizen who remains in conflict zones, whether working as State Civil Apparatus (ASN) or other civilian workers, will be categorized as part of intelligence agents of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) or Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS). Consequently, TPNPB stated it would not hesitate to carry out firm enforcement actions in the field.
TPNPB also emphasized that it will not stop resistance actions and will continue to expand the combat operation area in the Land of Papua. (One Papua)
