TOLIKARA - West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB) Defense Regional Command (Kodap) XXVII Yambi forces together with Tolikara TPNPB forces carried out an attack and shooting against a number of Indonesian military TNI members and military intelligence agents in Umage River, Kuari Umageyime District, Tolikara Regency.
This attack action taking place on Thursday (20/8/2026) resulted in casualties as well as injuries on the side of Indonesian military security forces, while causing a number of operational truck units to suffer heavy damage.
Major Botak Wanimbo conveyed joint TPNPB attack targeted movements of security forces as well as Indonesian military intelligence agents inside Tolikara region.
"We assisted by TPNPB Defense Regional Command (Kodap) XXVII Yambi forces together have carried out an attack and shooting against a number of Indonesian military TNI members and military intelligence agents in Umage River, Kuari Umageyime District, Tolikara Regency, Papua resulting in casualties and injuries occurring as well as a number of truck units suffering leaks," said Major Botak Wanimbo, Thursday (20/8/2026).
Following this attack action, TPNPB called for the cessation of all community activities as well as transportation mobility along Kububelela to Yigonikme route.
This firm warning is aimed at all Indonesian immigrant residents, State Civil Apparatus (ASN), Regional People's Representative Council (DPR), educators, up to health workers inside TPNPB operation region.
This step of halting activities of immigrant residents as well as land and air transportation fleets is executed according to Operations Order (PO) issued by TPNPB High Commander General Goliath Naaman Tabuni together with TPNPB General Operations Commander Major General Lekagak Telenggen.
TPNPB stated readiness to take full responsibility over all attack actions targeting TNI members as well as Indonesian military intelligence agents in Tolikara.
"If in later days shooting occurs against Indonesian government military intelligence agents working as health workers, teachers, motorcycle taxi drivers and taxi drivers then never blame TPNPB because this warning we have issued," said Major Botak Wanimbo.
TPNPB also emphasized existence of TPNPB headquarters in Tolikara is open for Indonesian security forces wishing to conduct pursuit.
Meanwhile, Central Headquarters Management of National Command (KOMNAS) TPNPB urged all Indonesian immigrant residents along with Indonesian government military intelligence agents to immediately vacate TPNPB operation regions across all Papua Land.
This warning to vacate TPNPB operation regions applies to non-Papuan residents as well as Papuan residents directly involved in infrastructure construction projects of roads, bridges, and housing together with Indonesian colonialism government.
TPNPB even emphasized focus of struggle across 36 Defense Regional Commands in all Papua Land is to reclaim independence of Papuan nation since 1 December 1961.
Therefore, TPNPB is ready to take firm action in the form of fatal shooting against parties continuing to assist Indonesian government in running construction programs inside TPNPB operation regions. (One Papua)
