PAPUA - The Management of the Headquarters of the National Command of the West Papua National Liberation Army officially announced a lifelong search list or DPO for Lenis Kogoya, who is referred to as a figure of betrayal of the people's struggle. The announcement was released coinciding with the commemoration of World Human Rights Day on August 10, 2026. TPNPB stated that this step was taken after receiving many aspirations and requests from fighters and civil society in Papua who felt disadvantaged by various public statements of Lenis Kogoya.
TPNPB assessed that the attitudes and statements issued by the tribal chief have tended to harm the interests of the Papuan nation and support Indonesian military policies in the conflict zone. TPNPB even mentioned that the figure in question acts as an extension of the colonial side to divide local resistance.
TPNPB Spokesperson Sebby Sambom stated that the action constitutes a real betrayal of the independence struggle.
"Traitors like Lenis Kogoya truly have a slave mentality with no capability, so the colonial utilizes him to act as a shield to parry all Papuans to fight the illegal presence of Indonesians on the ancestral land of the Papuan nation," said Sebby Sambom, Monday (8/10/2026).
TPNPB also emphasized that every statement delivered by the figure supports military operations and prolongs the suffering of the community in the land of Papua. TPNPB added that historical experience from other regions shows a similar fate experienced by parties who chose to ally with the central government but were eventually ignored. Therefore, TPNPB warned all parties affiliated with the Red and White Barisan to stop supporting colonialism.
TPNPB instructed all forces in the field to prepare to take firm action if the figure does not immediately resign or leave the land of Papua. TPNPB also emphasized that if independence is achieved one day, it will ensure all colonial supporters are relocated to other Indonesian territory. (One Papua)
