TPNPB Calls for Total Revolution: Claims International Support and Criticizes Useless Diplomacy

PAPUA – The Spokesperson for the West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB), Sebby Sambom declared TPNPB readiness to take the path of total revolution to achieve Papuan independence.

This firm statement emerged alongside his conviction that the terrorist status labeled by the Indonesian government has not gained legitimacy from the international community. According to him, the international world understands the historical background of the Papuan people's struggle and therefore does not necessarily agree with such labeling.

"The UN also does not say terrorist, America does not say terrorist, Australia, Europe, New Zealand, until today they have not said so. Indonesia is indeed trying to include us as terrorists but has never succeeded. Why is that? Because they know the history that the Papuan people have the right to be independent and the world knows this," said Sebby Sambom in his statement.

Furthermore, Sebby launched sharp criticism toward the effectiveness of the diplomatic path that has been pursued by Papuan fighters and diplomats abroad.

He assessed that these political lobbying efforts have not yet yielded any real results for the recognition of the country's sovereignty. He did not hesitate to call these diplomatic steps useless because they only end in empty promises without concrete realization on the ground.

"Only the Papuans who become diplomats, become fighters, do not know this. Until today they have not lobbied countries maximally. So in English we can say this is useless. This is useless. We believe them, we wait for hope, they promised us but it never happened, nothing happened," he firmly stated.

The disappointment toward this international lobbying path has finally pushed the TPNPB to take a more radical step. Quoting the Indonesian proverb 'Tak ada rotan, akar pun jadi' (If there is no rattan, roots will do), Sebby emphasized that the TPNPB will begin to move independently with a more aggressive strategy.

He ensured that TPNPB already has specific targets and will not hesitate to immediately announce a total revolution throughout the Papua region.

"So out of necessity, if there is no rattan, roots will do. TPN will play towards there. So we can dare to announce a total revolution. As for what happens in Papua, we will see later, because we also have targets," Sebby Sambom concluded, ending his statement. ***
