PAPUA – National Command Spokesperson of the West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB), Sebby Sambom, delivered an open call to destroy all assets belonging to the Indonesian government in the Papua region.
This step was emphasized as a form of radical resistance against colonial structures and an effort to break dependence on the administrative system of Indonesia.
In his statement, Sebby emphasized that physical infrastructure formed by Indonesia no longer has a place in the vision of a sovereign future Papua. He called for the cleansing of these symbols of power in order to rebuild Papua with independent financial strength and resources.
"Their assets are also not needed, need to be burned all, destroy! And independent Papua we will build with the country's own money," he stressed.
Sebby also highlighted the regional expansion policy carried out by the Indonesian government as a systematic effort to divide the strength of the Papua people. Sebby invited all elements of society, from students to fighters, to immediately leave behind pride in district or province identities which he called products of colonial formation that are not needed by the Papua nation.
"Throw away those understandings of being proud of districts or provinces, that's it stop, throw it far away! That is a colonial formation, the colonial government of the Republic of Indonesia, we do not need it," Sebby stressed.
He added that after independence is achieved, the Papua nation is committed to building its own land with independent resources, with a development vision inspired by the grandeur of big cities like Hong Kong at night, as once immortalized in the song by the legendary music group Black Brothers.
In addition to highlighting internal unity issues, Sebby also gave a special message to Indonesian citizens currently residing in Papua.
He stated that every indigenous Papua person, including those currently working within the Indonesian bureaucracy system from the level of governor to village head, is an important asset for the future of the independent Papua state. However, he also gave a stern warning to immigrant citizens who are deemed to be spying or supporting the actions of security forces against the fighters.
Sebby emphasized that TPNPB has special records regarding individuals considered to be detrimental to the struggle of the Papua nation.
He compared the position of immigrants in other Pacific countries such as Solomon and Fiji, where incoming residents can become investors and role models as long as they respect the local nation.
Sebby condemned the arrogant attitude of certain newcomers who instead oppress the indigenous people in their own homeland.
"Do not be arrogant! You make yourself like the master of the country then slaughter indigenous Papua people. Must know yourself, must know fear, must know sin," he said, closing the statement with the hope that all elements remain vigilant and united in one command of struggle. ***
