TOLIKARA - The West Papua National Liberation Army declared full responsibility for the shooting of five people who were referred to as Indonesian military intelligence agents in Kanggime District, Tolikara Regency, Mountainous Papua. The incident occurred during a series of cleansing operations launched by TPNPB forces from August 2 to 3, 2026.
This military operation involved West Papua National Liberation Army forces of the XXVIII Yambi Defense Regional Command from the Yamo Battalion led by Major Terinus Enumbi together with Major Botak Wanimbo. The victims who became the targets of the shooting disguised themselves as construction workers in that armed conflict region.
Major Terinus Enumbi asserted to President Prabowo Subianto that the war will take place consecutively for the next ten years in the land of Papua.
"All Indonesian government military intelligence agents and Indonesian immigrant people who work as motorcycle taxi drivers, construction workers, health workers, teachers, and civil servants must immediately stop their activities in the TPNPB operation area in Tolikara," said Terinus Enumbi, Monday (8/3/2026).
TPNPB also asserted to all parties that the battle to retake the independence of the Papuan nation will continue without stopping. All forces under the leadership of General Goliath Tabuni and Major General Lekagak Telenggen are now in a standby position on the battlefield.
TPNPB even urged that Indonesian immigrant people immediately empty all areas included in the TPNPB military operation zone for the safety of their respective lives.
The TPNPB Central Headquarters Management appealed to all Indonesian government military intelligence agents operating in armed conflict regions throughout the Land of Papua to immediately return to their respective hometowns. This appeal was delivered for the safety and protection of civilians referring to the applicable provisions of international humanitarian law.
TPNPB also asked that this call receive serious attention by all parties involved in the security situation in the land of Papua.
