DEKAI - The Central Headquarters Management of the National Command of the West Papua National Liberation Army (KOMNAS TPNPB) has released the latest report, directly from the battlefield in Yahukimo.

​Based on the periodic report sent by Major Makar Sobolim along with Lampion Heluka, TPNPB Kodap XVI Yahukimo has conducted an offensive operation that resulted in the burning down of one school building unit of SMP N Koasrama in Dekai District, Dekai Town, Yahukimo Regency on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at around 22:00 Papua Time, while troop movements were underway in the area.

​The military operation in the urban area is a form of real rejection against the existence of development carried out by the Indonesian colonial government.

​The Spokesperson of KOMNAS TPNPB, Sebby Sambom, emphasized the political and military position of TPNPB, absolutely rejecting all infrastructure programs on the land of Papua, including educational facilities, road networks, settlements, to bridges.

​TPNPB declared readiness to raze the entire development assets of the government if this warning is ignored. This is in line with the line of instruction that has been issued by the General Operations Commander of TPNPB, Major General Lekagak Telenggen.

​In addition to the action of razing government facilities, the situation in Yahukimo is heating up after the Operations Commander of TPNPB Kodap XVI Yahukimo, Major Kopitua Heluka, confirmed the shooting of eight people identified as military intelligence agents of the Indonesian government.

​Based on field investigation data, the eight TNI members disguised themselves as illegal gold miners in the Yahukimo region to conduct monitoring of guerrilla movements.

​This tactical attack was launched within the time period between May 17 to 20, 2026 under the direct command of the Commander of the Yamue Battalion, Mayor Kumis Passe, along with Mayor Dejang Heluka who led the full movement of the Yamue Battalion infantry troops.

​Menaming to this escalation, Mayor Dejang Heluka gave a harsh and open warning addressed directly to the highest ranks in Jakarta, including President Prabowo Subianto, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, TNI Commander Agus Subyanto, and National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

​TPNPB urges Indonesia to immediately stop the deployment of covert military personnel who are often infiltrated into armed conflict areas by manipulating civilian professions such as gold miners, taxi drivers, motorcycle taxi drivers, as well as building construction workers.

​"We emphasize to the Indonesian intelligence agents who have been educated or attended military training such as the Component Reserve (Komcad), intelligence, and the like to immediately vacate the operation area of TPNPB Kodap XVI Yahukimo, because if we meet in the field, TPNPB is ready to shoot dead. Especially towards Indonesian immigrant citizens, we warn to immediately vacate the Yahukimo area for the sake of safety," emphasized Mayor Dejang Heluka.

​The Central Headquarters Management of KOMNAS TPNPB again underlines that all economic policies, infrastructure megaprojects, and the administration of Indonesian colonialism on the Land of Papua do not have legal and moral legitimacy.

​TPNPB views the presence of Indonesia in Papua as a form of illegal occupation through a prolonged military aggression, which until today has sacrificed hundreds of thousands of lives of innocent indigenous Papuan citizens through a series of military operations and systematic massacres.

​As a step to anticipate the falling of non-Papuan civilian casualties in the midst of the battlefield, TPNPB issued an ultimatum to all Indonesian immigrant citizens who are currently residing in armed conflict zones.

​This ultimatum is emphasized as a standard safety procedure before TPNPB intensifies armed attacks thoroughly in various operation command areas.

​"We request to Indonesian immigrant citizens to immediately vacate conflict areas across the Land of Papua. If in military operations they are found conducting activities, then TPNPB is ready to shoot dead. This matter needs to become a serious attention. If it is not heeded, then they will be executed dead, firmly, TPNPB also rejects the illegal occupation of immigrants on the Land of Papua," concluded Sebby Sambom. ***
